The subjects coming under the Applied Science Department of any engineering college are:
1) Applied Mathematics
2) Applied Physics
3) Applied Chemistry
4) Communication Skills
The Subject Applied Mathematics is taught up to Semester 5th of
Engineering Degree Course. Without knowledge of Mathematics, a person
cannot become a successful engineer.
The important topics in the mathematics include Statistics, Probability
and Operational Research etc. whose knowledge is a base for engineering
courses.
The subject Applied Physics is
base of Engineering and Technology. The core branches of Engineering
like Mechanical, Civil, Electronics and Electrical are based on
principals, fundamentals and concepts in physics.
The subject Applied Chemistry deals with the study of different
important engineering materials used in engineering fields. Few
examples of such engineering materials are Metals and Alloys, Rubber
and Plastics, Fossil Fuels, Lubricants, Cement etc.
Communication Skills is taught in IInd semester of First Year and IIIrd
semester of Second Year. The subject helps in improving communication
skills of the students so that they can present their knowledge or
ideas before others in proper and precise manner with confidence and
ease. |
